What does this mean?
In a literal sense, it is the German word for miracle and mystery and the English word for cook.
For us here at Wündercook, it holds a more sentimental meaning.
Heading up Wündercook is Susan, the natural leader of this team. Born in Taiwan and always the first to discover and enjoy new food trends all around the world , it isn’t hard to imagine her at the helm of her own food company.
Right beside her in this endeavour is Elle, the epitome of middle child syndrome. Born in South Africa and a self proclaimed hostess with the mostess, she was also a natural to be a part of a company that wanted to be the online destination for all the hard to source ingredients that would elevate a dinner party from pretty good, to authentically delicious.
Cooking meals from Taiwan for our friends and family in South Africa is a certain kind of magic on its own. The wonderment and delight that these meals from our grandparents and travels could evoke is something we wanted for every other South African in their own homes.
So, that’s Wündercook in a nutshell. We hope you enjoy our recipes and that we’ve managed to be your one stop shop for your future dinner parties.
